Prof Ash Memon

Professor Memon is a surgeon of over 25 years experience. Having trained in some of the best medical centres in the world, (USA, UK, Ireland) he offers his patients a safe and caring surgical hand. His relentless commitment to continuous professional development ensures his patients always receive the most up to date and evidence-based care.
Professor Memon offers upper and lower gastrointestinal surgery, obesity surgery and endoscopy. Encompassing both open and minimally-invasive techniques Prof Memon performs hernia repair, gallbladder surgery, anti-reflux surgery, colorectal surgery, circumcision, vasectomy, varicose vein surgery, obesity surgery (gastric banding and intragastric balloon) among other general surgical procedures. Prof Memon is a highly experienced endoscopist and dually accredited with the Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Society of Australia (GESA). As such he also offers colonoscopy, gastroscopy, capsule endoscopy and pH & Manometry Studies for reflux disease. Prof Memon also offers select paediatric surgical procedures.

Continuous professional development is very important to Prof. Memon in his mission to provide the most up to date and evidence-based practice to his patients. His ongoing commitment to research is demonstrated through his active participation in clinical research projects and his publications in a wide variety of high impact medical journals. Our practice nurse, Breda, offers not only her vast experience in all matters clinical, but also a warm, caring approach and a wicked Irish sense of humour that would melt the most stressful of situations.
Breda has been a registered nurse for over 20 years. Starting her career in Ireland, she subsequently worked as a registered nurse in the UK, USA and has brought all skills gathered along the way to Queensland.
You will meet Breda on your first appointment with Professor Memon as she takes you through education in preparation for any proposed procedure. She will check in on you after your surgery and look after your wound in the post-operative period. Breda also assists Prof Memon with pH & Manometry and capsule endoscopy. Breda thoroughly enjoys nursing and goes the extra mile to ensure you feel comfortable, informed and cared for. She is also available to answer any queries over the telephone.
Administration Staff

Sue Dobson
Practice Manager
This important role is managed by Sue Dobson. She is versed in the problems and protocols of the clinic, and is your first point of contact.
She is the ultimate multi-tasker: taking bookings, arranging theatre lists, ensuring blood results are available, looking after surgeons who come to observe, providing information, answering queries from the internet. Despite being such a busy lady, she is calm and helpful in the most stressful of situations.
Sue is married with 2 young children, and eagerly gives her opinion on the latest Australian cricket, soccer and tennis performance!

Carolina Pashley
Medical Administration Officer
Carolina has worked in administration for over 20 years and as a qualified medical receptionist for the past 4 years. Her exceptional organisational skills keep the practice in top shape. You will always be greeted with a warm smile when you walk through our door!
Carolina is married with 2 children. Her interests include rock’n’roll dancing and spending time with family.
